Delete your Council account

You can permanently delete your Council account from inside the app. This deletes your account, sign-in records, councils, sessions, messages, and generated conversation history.
Delete in the app
- Open the Council app and sign in.
- Go to You.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, type DELETE, then confirm.
After deletion, you are signed out and the app clears the saved token and user record from secure device storage.
If you no longer have the app
Email hello@getcouncil.app with the subject Delete my Council account. Send the request from the email address on your Council account whenever possible.
For security, we will verify that you own the account before deleting anything. Verification may include sending a confirmation link or code to the account email, asking you to sign in again, or another support check that proves account ownership. We will not delete an account from an unverified email submission.
What is deleted
- Your Council account row and sign-in identifiers.
- Magic-link sign-in tokens tied to your account or email.
- Your councils, sessions, messages, prompts, and generated conversation history.
- Local app authentication state after the in-app deletion succeeds.
What is not deleted
The global advisor catalog and public site content are not tied to individual accounts and are not deleted. Minimal server logs, provider records, or backups may remain for a limited period where needed for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or disaster recovery.
